Family Nights to a Strong Family Foundation

An evening set aside specifically for family activities is one sure way to strengthen a family’s relationship especially with kids and to ensure security and happiness in the process. One of the basis of a successful family is the incorporation of a family night at a day where there are very few events already planned for. Something to always keep in mind regardless of whichever day was chosen to have a family night on is that this is a time for all family members to come together and have fun.

There is absolutely no need for any form of fixed agenda either when it comes to organizing a family get together or fun event, you can simply make it up as you go along. It can really be just about anything from going out for a family meal together to sitting down and playing a few exciting games with each other.

Your children must respect others, so teach them!

Have you ever been in a gathering and your children did something which shows no respect to others? You must feel so bad because many guests will think that you do not do your job to educate your children well. Actually you can do something to avoid that happen. Teaching the children to respect to others can be started as early as possible. You can start when they are about two years. In this age, your child can communicate to others with simple sentence. So, ask them to say please when they want to ask something especially to someone older. In addition, you should make your children often say thank you. Those words are the foundation to build strong respect to others.

When your children are playing, they should be guided to know the concept of rules and turns. Playing with others also give the knowledge about being fair and honest. Besides purchasing individual toys, try to search for the social toys which let your children to play with others. Then, when someone is coming to your home, ask your children to say hello and behave well. Although these seem so simple, the effects are great. You children will know what to do among the older people, the peer group, the family members, and other. In addition, you may develop the feeling and actions of generosity through simple things as part of home education. For example, they can share their cakes or toys with siblings and friends.

Teaching the Money Value to Kids, Why not?

As parents, you have made a great decision by teaching the money value to your kids. You should start earlier because it will give your children strong foundation for their future. At the beginning, you can show them various kinds of money you have, the coin and the paper ones. Show them the value and basic function of the money. You need to talk in warm circumstance that all items they have are bought with money. Of course, your kids do not understand about the works of the financial system. So, explain them about the simple thing that your kids will understand. Make sure you put earning, saving, spending, and investing as the topics. There is no need to be hurry and let your kids comprehend each detail on their way.

If you plan to go to the grocery, ask your kids to discuss what to buy and how much money you have. Show your kids that you cannot purchase a lot of chocolate bars because you need to buy fruits, vegetables, and others.   This is the real example about the way to spend the money and at the same time you give the lesson about spending for the important items. Once they can understand it, you have done one of the home education points. In another occasion, you may take them to the bank and show the activities there. The third or fourth grades children can be asked to discuss about the bills and balancing a checkbook. If you think they are ready to manage their money, you can continue to educate your children by giving some money. Guide them on using it properly. What you have done today is the essential foundation for their future.

Good habits are started from the family

Habit is something that people do again and again. Since they will do it regularly, there is only a choice. That is doing only the good habit. At home, you have to do only the good habit. Once you do the bad one, your children will automatically think it as the good one. Children are taught to respect others especially their parents. So, they will imitate what you do. To avoid something bad happens, you need to rethink about your children home education so far. Then, try to replace the bad ones with the good and educative ones. For example, you may ask your children to wash their hands before eating and brush the teeth after eating. Your children have to see while you are doing them. This prevents your children to see you as bossy person.
